When developing a custom LCD panel, it is important to note that the monochrome LCD industry does not have standard display panels (excluding color TFT LCDs, COB modules, and OLEDs). Each LCD panel is unique, with varying specifications such as size, voltage, viewing direction, and graphics. To simplify the customization process, please provide the following details:

1. LCD Size (mm)

• Specify the viewing area size or the total LCD size in millimeters (length and width).
• Based on your input, we will design a practical and cost-effective LCD size.
• Common total thickness options include 2.8mm, 2.0mm, and 1.7mm, with 2.8mm being the most typical.

 

2. LCD Graphics (Characters and Icons)

• Provide a simple representation of the required LCD graphics, either as a formal CAD drawing or a rough sketch.
• This allows us to determine the number of segments, and our engineers will prepare a formal LCD drawing for your approval.

 

3. LCD Type
Choose one of the following LCD types:
1.TN
2.HTN
3.STN
4.FSTN
5.VA

4. LCD Operating Voltage

• The operating voltage depends on the LCD driver chip.
• Typical voltage ranges from 2.8V to 5.0V.
• We recommend using standard voltages like 3.0V, 3.3V, or 5.0V for optimal performance.

 

5. Rear Polarizer Type
Select one of the three polarizer options:

• Reflective Polarizer: Ideal if no LED backlight is needed.
• Transmissive Polarizer: Suitable for negative LCDs or when the LED backlight is always on.
• Transflective Polarizer: A premium option providing uniform light distribution. It performs well with LED backlights and also offers good visibility when the backlight is off.

 

Note: Transflective polarizers are generally preferred due to their superior display quality, although they are more expensive than transmissive polarizers.
